Description of Fossil Fuel Poetry Book

Fossil Fuels

I dream I can see through my arm

I dream I am no longer a woman

no longer human

I weigh less and less

Light is all I live for

Now I lay me down on your hatred

Now you lay yourself down on my longing

Here I am

child of no one

Now I lay me down on your ignorance

Now you lay yourself down

on my self–pity

My ancestors were slaves

Your ancestors were devils

Now I lay me down on your guilt

Now you lay yourself down

on my shame
