Description of Still–ed Life Series
A series of small oil paintings on wooden panels bearing the names of black men and women killed by police and civilian violence. The series dates from 2018. Each painting carries part of the person’s name on the wooden block; the other part is stenciled onto the wall in pale gray paint, integrating the artwork into the environment.
